A latecomer riding through the junction, although Mr Motorist alongside me is somewhat far forward for red and amber! The two-stage right turn waiting areas can be seen in the junction. Ahead are the mandatory cycle lanes on Central Brid ... [more]

The waiting area for the two-stage right turn at the junction at the end of the Itchen Bridge.

Approaching the turn onto Central Bridge from the south.

An 'End of Route' sign where clearly the cycle route continues across the other side of the road, and no dropped kerb on one side of the crossing. Broken tactiles becoming a trip hazard.

Cycleway alongside West Quay Road.

Minimal width pedestrian crossing across dual carriageway retail park access, without pedestrian/cycle signals.

Another big junction, with huge kerbs, and the shared-use footways to the south seem to end without any notice. But it is a crucial point for crossing the railway (without dismounting to use the stairs on the footbridge at the station).

Although the crossings at this junction are toucans, the shared-use footways just stop, without notice.

The cycleway is on the right hand side, and on-coming cyclists are hidden from view by the bush approaching the crossing point.

Approaching Itchen Bridge, at the junction with the 2-stage right turn markings. Note the cyclist using the pedestrian crossing at the far side of the junction. Although signs show that right turns are banned from this direction, there a ... [more]

The start of the segregated cycleway on Marsh Lane, but the kerb forces a swerve out into traffic in order to leave the carriageway!

Unnecessarily fussy arrangement for entrance to bus and cycle only road. Why not use 'No Entry except local buses and cycles' instead of this traffic island?

A bus/cycle only road crosses the main pedestrian precinct at the Bargate.

Very narrow cycle lane between University Road and Violet Road and Broadlands Road. Encourages very close passes when cycling in the lane (with 10cm of your handlebars), or aggressive impatient driving if you cycle outside of the lane. Addi ... [more]

The barriers here keep the cars from parking on these verges here, but over the road the wide pavement there has become an unofficial car park.

These houses do not have a road to access the front of their properties, but that has not stopped this parkland becoming an unofficial driveway and parking area.

View of a traffic junction and cycle parking from the 8th floor of a hotel.
